Best Pals for Mining in Palworld

August 2024 · 6 minute read

Mining is one of the best ways to get new resources in Palworld, and these are the best Pals for the job in the game.

Alongside collecting Pals for fighting bosses, and to use as Mounts, you can also put them to work at your base in Palworld. Among the many tasks creatures can perform, Mining is essential as it can get you plenty of Ore which is a crucial crafting resource.

A lot of Pals are suitable for Mining but some creatures are better than others, so here are the ones we’d recommend for the job.

10. Mammorest

In addition to Mining, Mammorest also has level two Planting and Lumbering skills, making it a valuable addition to your base.

Finding a Mammorest in Palworld isn’t incredibly difficult, considering they are located in the map’s northern, southeast, south, and some western regions. You may be able to find one right as you spawn into Palworld, but it’s unlikely you can capture one at such a low level. Mammorest is weak against Grass Pals so we’d recommend bringing one along like Mossanda or Robinquil.

9. Quivern

Quivern can be a beneficial flying mount for players due to its ability to enhance Dragon attacks while mounted. Quivern’s various skills of Handiwork, Gathering, Mining, and Transporting make this Pal incredibly well-rounded.

To find this Alpha Pal, head to the Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant found on the north side of the Bamboo Groves. Make sure you bring plenty of Legendary Spheres, as well as Ice-Type Pals with you to make things easier.

8. Xenogard

Xenogard has a Level 3 Work Suitability for Mining so as well as being a powerful Dragon-type Pal, it’s also good to recruit to your base if you’re in need of extra help with resource gathering.

The only way to get a Xenogard in Palworld is during a Meteorite Event, which happens at random in the game and never in specific locations – so it can be a tricky creature to catch. If you can find one though, having an Ice-type Pal in the fight will put you at an advantage.

7. Knocklem

Knocklem is a new Pal who was introduced during the Sakurajima update. He appears as an Alpha Pal near the waterfall in the south of Sakurajima. As well as being suitable for Mining, Knocklem is also highly capable of Transporting and Gathering, making them a great Pal to have to work at your base.

As a Ground-type Pal, Knocklem is weak to Grass Pals so we’d advise having a few in your team.

6. Anubis

While Anubis stands out with its level 3 Mining skill, it also shines in other areas like Handiwork and Transporting. The combination of all three skills really turns Anubis into a helpful Mining machine.

Considering Anubis is an Alpha Pal, you can only find one in the entire game in the middle of the Twilight Dunes. Be sure to bring some Legendary Spheres so you don’t miss your chance to capture it, and some Grass-type Pals to make the battle a bit easier.

5. Menasting

Menasting can be used to acquire more loot from Electric-type enemies due to its Steel Scorpion Partner Skill.

You can employ Menasting work in Lumbering and Mining after finding it at the second Pal Wildlife Sanctuary. This Pal is weak against Dragon and Grass-type attacks so bring along some Pals of either type to make things easier.

4. Reptyro

The Reptyro can be quite tricky to capture in the Volcanic regions.

With a level 3 Mining skill, Reptyro is another great monster to have for gathering Ores. It also has a level 3 Kindling Skill used for refining Ingots.

Most importantly, its Ore-Loving Beast skill is incredible for smelting and refining Ingots quickly. To find Reptyro, you must head to the volcanic regions on the southwestern part of the map. Water-type Pals are strongest against Reptyro so bring some along.

3. Blazamut

Blazamut is a great choice for Mining if you need a Pal with a Kindling skill. This allows Blazamut to refine Ingots, and we recommend using this Pal alongside Anubis to create an excellent Mining team.

Like Astegon, Blazamut is a rare monster. It can be found in the Scorching Mineshaft or in the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary. We’d recommend having a Water Pal like Penking or Gobfin on your team before trying to take on a Blazemut.

2. Digtoise

Digtoise has a unique Partner Skill that quickens the mining process and makes it ideal to keep at your base specifically to focus on mining.

Fortunately, you can find Digtoise pretty early in the game in the two main desert areas on the Palpagos Islands. This Pal is weak to Grass-type attacks so have a couple of Grass Pals with when heading into the fight.

1. Astegon

Astegon is arguably the best late-game Pal for Mining in Palworld due to its Level 4 skill. We recommend putting Astegon near Stone Pits to have the most efficient outcome. Unfortunately, Astegon is a boss with a low catching rate.

You’ll need a Flying Pal already to get to Astegon, as they are most easily found in the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary. Be sure to bring Ice-type Pals to make the battle easier.
